Miya Ando is a Japanese and American artist and author whose work gives form to ephemeral natural phenomena and explores time and impermanence. She made the artwork, Since 9/11, that now stands in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, as a memorial to those who lost their lives in New York on 11 September 2001. Miya has exhibited at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the 56th Venice Biennale.
Her work is held in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and other public institutions.
