John of Southwark OBE was the Leader of Southwark Council from 2010 until 2020 and the Chair of London Councils between 2018 and 2020. He is a practising barrister, one of the founders of Quoin Partners and is a Trustee at the Old Vic Theatre. He was created a life peer in January 2026 and sits on the Labour benches.
