Addressing an invited audience at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, our speakers came together to remember those who lost their lives on 11 September 2001, reflect on the impact and legacy of the attacks, and consider why the lessons of 9/11 continue to matter twenty-five years later.
Speakers brought a range of personal and professional perspectives, reflecting both on the events of that day and on the world in which young people are growing up today. They spoke about the importance of remembrance and understanding, but also about the need to equip future generations to challenge misinformation, division and extremism and to think critically about what they see and hear.
Twenty-five years on, the event was both an opportunity to remember the past and to look forward – reaffirming SINCE 9/11’s commitment to helping young people understand the world around them and play their part in building a more informed, resilient and tolerant society.
