Remembering the 23rd anniversary of 9/11

Today we mark twenty-three years since the events of 11th September 2001 when 2977 people were murdered in the  al Qaida Islamist terrorist attacks, and our world was changed overnight.

We also pay our respects to all those first responders and others who worked at Ground Zero in the days, weeks and months that followed, those who are sick or have died as a result of 9/11-related illness or injury as well as all the survivors and heroes who continue be impacted by the events of that day.

Here at SINCE 9/11 we are committed to ensuring that young people in schools, none of whom were born at the time, learn about the events, causes and consequences of 9/11, and that we tackle extremism through education in the classroom, to create a more peaceful and harmonious future for us all.
