We are thrilled to announce that SINCE 9/11 has been awarded a grant from the Community Cohesion and Resilience Fund (CCRF) to deliver our new project, Fake News, Real Consequences, in the Dover District. You can read more about the workshop here.
This timely initiative aims to build the critical thinking and digital literacy skills of young people aged 13 to 16 across state secondary schools, special schools, and youth organisations in the area. Through engaging, participative workshops, we’ll explore how online mis- and disinformation spreads, the psychological reasons we are drawn to extreme content, and the real-world consequences of sharing false information online.
To ensure schools are fully equipped to support these conversations, we’ll also deliver an expert-led briefing session for local educators, giving them the knowledge and confidence to address extremism and online misinformation in their classrooms.
With the generous support of CCRF, this project aims to reach approximately 900 young people and 30 educators during the summer term, helping to build young people’s resilience and critical thinking skills across the District.
If you work with young people in Dover and are interested in the sessions, please complete the expression of interest form below.
