Through our outreach programme, SINCE 9/11 will deliver a free workshop, appropriate for KS3 and KS4 in your school.
Ideal for classrooms and assemblies, the workshops cover three broad topics:
- The events, causes and consequences of 9/11
In this topic we will explore how 9/11 has shaped the world since the attack; in terms of global politics, national security laws and tensions between different groups in society, as well as how relevant 9/11 is to us in the UK today.
- The impact of 9/11 and terrorism in a UK context in the "now"
This will involve attitudes related to religious tolerance, the impact on civil liberties, exploring extremism and radicalisation and identifying what the UK is doing to combat prejudice towards others.
- What really happened on 9/11 and how this relates to ‘alternative facts’ and ‘fake news’
This topic will cover what motivates people to believe in one thing over another - with reference to conspiracy theories, what methods we should use to judge sources of information and what biases might be evident when discussing September 11th.
We can also discuss tailoring a session to meet your specific needs.
