Through our outreach programme SINCE 9/11 is happy to deliver free workshops, appropriate for KS3 and KS4, in your school.
These workshops are adjusted depending on the year group and are best suited to be given to classes of up to 30 students. Each workshop can be 60 or 90 minutes in length.
A brief summary of the workshop structure is given below:
"In this workshop students are presented with a range of information from familiar digital media sources, such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. All of the information relates to the attacks which took place on 9/11. Students work together to evaluate each source of information for reliability and trustworthiness, with support from the facilitator. The facilitator will expertly weave an underlying theme of extremism, and highlight the vulnerability of young people who are exposed to digital media which aims to radicalise, into the workshops without making this the explicit aim. Students will reflect on their critical thinking skills at the end of the session, and leave with an understanding of the events which took place on September 11th, 2001."
